This is a fun map where you can practice micro and macro with a partner. Observers can also join to watch. Just pick your units at the top left corner, and they will pop up in the middle for you to use. Basically, anything you want to try out, can be done in this map!

A new version of BWChart was released yesterday with a minor update. The program now has a checkbox for showing the in-game chat saved in the replays. Remember though, only replays since StarCraft patch v1.16.0 have saved chats.

I’ve just came across an interesting 2 player shoot-em-up arcade game called Mission Craft. According to arcade-history, this game’s sprites, animations, sound effects, and background music are all taken from Blizzard’s StarCraft Brood War and Warcraft II. Take a look at the game play video below.
If you want to try out this game for yourself, you will need: the Latest MAME and the Mission Craft (version 2.4) Rom
Enjoy!

Sometimes when you create a game on StarCraft, a few people will join… but you want to wait a little bit longer for more people to play. After a while, you realize that nobody else is joining your game, so what do you do? You probably say remake, or rm, and you cancel the game that you just made so that you can create the same thing again. However, you don’t have to do that!
One way to get more people to join your game if you want a full house is to just close all the open slots, and then reopen the slots again. This is called refreshing your game.
Another way to refresh your game, is to just tell someone in your game to leave and come back. You can tell him/her to rejoin or rj. This method of refreshing is faster and better if there are a lot of empty slots and you don’t feel like opening/closing them all.
You know the game list on Battle.net is always updating. It’s showing the newest games that were just created, which will keep on pushing your game to the back of the list. By refreshing your game, it will help bring your game up to the front of the list so more people will see it again, thus you’ll get more people to join.
These 2 methods of refreshing work on Battle.net, and also in Local Area Network mode. Next time you are waiting for more people to join your StarCraft game, try refreshing it!

BWHF Agent was updated yesterday to version 2.50 which now includes a player matcher tab. If you haven’t heard of this StarCraft utility before, it’s basically a super-featured-packed version of BWChart. Anyway, this new feature allows you to pick a selection of replays from your computer to have the players analyzed and compared. The end result shown is a matching probability for the players. Download the program below and check it out!

BWChart, the amazing StarCraft replay analyzer program which I thought was dead, was actually updated 4 months ago on April 15th, 2009. Its update before this was from way back on March 16th, 2006 – more than three years ago! I recently found out about this new version from the official website and I haven’t posted about it yet, so here it is!
Version 1.04A adds support for StarCraft v1.16’s chat logs that are saved in replays. The creator, JCA, also fixed a few bugs, added smooth curves, and a new chart called “Map Coverage” which tells 2 things: 1. how much percentage of the map you have buildings on, and 2. how much percentage of the map you are moving units on. You can download BWChart v1.04A below.

A pretty interesting strategy to try out on Big Game Hunters if you’re playing with your friends.

If you want to sign up to become a Beta tester for Blizzard’s upcoming games, now is the time to do it! How? Just go to battle.net’s website, make a Battle.net Account if you haven’t already, and then register one of your games from Blizzard.
(Any of the CD keys from these past Blizzard games may be registered to your Battle.net Account: StarCraft, StarCraft Battle Chest, StarCraft Anthology, Warcraft III, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, Warcraft Battle Chest, Diablo II, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, Diablo II Battle Chest.)
Once you have your Battle.net account set up, you will be able to access “Beta Profile Settings” under the Manage My Games area. When you get in the Settings page, you will have to download and run the Battle.net System Check program which will send Battle.net your computer hardware information. Finally, after that’s done, you will be able to select the beta tests (from the “Diablo universe”, the “StarCraft universe”, and the “Warcraft universe”) that you are interested in. Good luck, and hope you get chosen for beta testing!
